Sustainable and resource-saving operations: This credo has always determined the corporate culture of CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH. Now the Wurzen-based company is going one step further. The entire site, including production, is to become climate-neutral. For this purpose, more than 2,200 solar modules were installed on the company site, which have now been put into operation.
The modules generate an annual energy yield of more than 810,000 kWh – this means that not only can the company’s office building and production be supplied with sufficient electricity, but there is also a surplus that can be fed into the grid. Annual CO2 emissions can thus be reduced by 382,000 kg.
“Climate protection should be one of the top priorities of any business,” explains Corinne Ziege, Managing Director of CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH. “Among other things, we produce plants for the recovery of CO2 right here in Wurzen and have thus already been able to reduce emissions of this climate-damaging gas in many countries. But of course, climate protection also starts on our own doorstep, which is why we decided to invest in this large-scale solar plant in order to become a climate neutral company ourselves.”
CRYOTEC is also currently converting its fleet of company cars to electric vehicles. Two hybrid vehicles are already available to employees, and more all-electric ones are to follow. Four charging stations have been set up for this purpose, where employees can also charge their private e-vehicles free of charge.
