“There’s a new SKID in Town”
CRYOTEC, a specialist in cryogenic plant engineering and IWB, the market leader in automation solutions, now offer a joint end-to-end solution for the growing (BioMethane) LNG market.
We handle the entire supply chain: from the production to the storage and shipment by truck.
The demand for LNG plants is growing, and with it, a plethora of challenges for future operators. Due to the complexity of these projects, there is a need to involve different companies in planning, plant construction and automation to profit from a bundled expertise for the overall realization. However, coordinating activities causes additional costs and delays the start of operations; it is essential to clearly define the individual scopes of the project partners and the responsibilities within the project management framework. These time factors, coupled with the equally increasing vulnerability of supply chains, can quickly cause budget-critical projects to falter.
It is now easier to implement small-scale LNG projects: CRYOTEC as a specialist for cryogenic plant engineering, and IWB, as an expert for automation solutions, offer a joint, standardized solution, taking into account all aspects around operational safety and quality assurance. Using predefined interfaces, completely pre-assembled and scalable LNG plants are now being assembled at the Wurzen site using CRYO.TAS as the MES system. Thanks to a modular or containerized design, space requirements at the intended location are minimal, and any later final assembly at the construction site is highly time-saving. IWB’s scalable MES system CRYO.TAS controls and monitors all the components required for the fully automated, crewless operation of LNG loading. All the hardware necessary for fully automated process analysis and loading logistics is fully integrated – the LNG plants are implemented on a turnkey basis.
Managing Director of CRYOTEC GmbH Corinne Ziege notes: “Thanks to the complete integration of CRYO.TAS, we are setting new standards in plant engineering. Our partnership with IWB enables us to meet the growing demand for complete solutions with comprehensive expertise.”
IWB is a globally operating automation expert based in Egling near Munich. In-house developed CRYO.TAS is a scalable MES system suitable for all types of bulk loading. Commenting on the cooperation, Wolfgang Bauer, managing director of IWB, states: “Standardization is the logical consequence of relying on established solutions. At IWB, we do not experiment with our customers’ expectations. We meet existing standards and set new benchmarks together with CRYOTEC and CRYO.TAS.”
